Trib U: Social Media for Business: Part One

Monday, February 6th at 6:00PM

You understand how social networks work. Now make social networks work for your business. In this intermediate seminar, we will show you how to design a strategy for your business using the leading social networks. We will focus on Facebook, Twitter, Yelp, YouTube, Flickr and LinkedIn.

In three hours, you will: 

• Understand how social media can help a business of any size.
• Learn the distinguishing features of each social network.
• See how three local businesses use social media successfully.
• Learn how to design your own social media strategy in 9 steps.

Dinner will be served from 5:30 to 6 p.m. and class will begin promptly at 6 p.m.

Our class is a lively mix of discussions, presentations and short tutorials. A computer is not required for this class. At the start of class, attendees will receive a printed handout that follows the presentation. Afterwards, they will be emailed a PDF of the complete presentation.

Foresight Green Drinks

Sustainability engaged citizens will have many opportunities in 2012 to set the course for a vibrant and resilient future at the ballot box. A critical primary that can make great strides towards those goals is for the commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago.

All of the candidates have been invited to participate. Stella Black, Patricia Horton, Karen Roothaan,Julie Samuels, Debra Shore, Kari Steele, Patrick Thompson, and Patricia Young have already accepted our invitation.

Following in the tradition of Foresight's popular Mayoral Candidate Forum in 2010, this event is your chance to hear candidates reveal their environmental platforms, and leave empowered to vote for who will best deliver on your priorities.

Ever since Jocelyn and I started Networlding 10 years ago we have shared the story of our very successful start where we became #10 on Amazon, in Chicago, and held that spot for an entire year. What a lot of people don't know is how we accomplished that success and what it could mean for you and your business success, but we'll tell you so you can use the idea. We were members of the chamber and as such they provided us with the space we needed to host full-day bootcamps where people could go through the seven steps of Networlding.
